IV. Floriography
The language of flowers, or Floriography, emerged as a clandestine method to communicate when social protocol judged displays of affection in public. It was mainly used during the nineteenth century in America and England and is now considered one of the symbols of the Victorian era.
This collection deals with the difficulty of expressing one's feelings clearly, learning to expose oneself in public and declaring feelings without shame, nor fear of being judged.
The prints want to convey three different versions of love: The love of the people around you, the love of a couple and the love of a mother or family. It is a joyful tribute to the people I love and who love me.
. Photographed by Maite Artajo.
